Gabrielius Plungė

I build websites, learning games, video and interactive installations. I work at VDU STEAM Center and KTU Engineering Lyceum.

Real learning games from steam.vdu.lt: Photo Academy, Cube Workshop and Ball Path

Work

Platform of the VDU STEAM Didactics Center

steam.vdu.lt

Students join with a code from their teacher and play learning games in class. Teachers get lesson materials, class control and event sign-ups. I build and run the platform myself.

A creative app suite in the browser

Colorpool

Nine apps for photo, video, audio, 3D, electronics and games. Familiar menus and shortcuts, and files stay on the computer. There is a Mac and Windows app too.

Interactive installation

Universe in Your Hands

A camera follows how people move, and the screen turns it into a galaxy, fire or a physics experiment. 33 scenes, from Chladni figures to Kepler orbits. Runs in TouchDesigner and in the browser.

Orbits: planets circling human silhouettes Chladni figures on a vibrating plate Aurora above silhouettes

Games for lessons

I make them for my own lessons. They run in the browser with nothing to install, and students join with a class code.

Grades 5 to 12 · Media and photography

Photo Academy

A photography course in realistic 3D places: a seaside at sunset, an old town square, a park, a manor. Students set up the camera themselves and take the photo, and the game assesses it.

levels in 3D places
12
tasks with 3D cameras
What students learn
  • Exposure: aperture, shutter speed and ISO
  • Focal length and depth of field
  • White balance and composition
  • How a camera works inside: a 3D model and an X-ray view

Where it is used: The VDU STEAM Center platform steam.vdu.lt

Photo Academy: a 3D camera viewfinder, a girl by the sea at sunset Photo Academy: a cathedral square through the lens, a man walking byCameras: a 3D medium format camera that students can take apart

Grades 1 to 4 · Engineering and technical drawing

Cube Workshop

Students build with cubes and check whether the model matches the top, front and side drawings. It also works the other way round: draw the views of a model, or make an order for a friend.

What students learn
  • Reading and making technical drawings
  • Spatial thinking: from a drawing to 3D and back
  • Building to an order and checking the work yourself

Where it is used: KTU Engineering Lyceum, grade 3 engineering lessons

Cube Workshop: a cube robot in the 3D view Cube Workshop: the order and the student’s top, front and side drawingsCube Workshop: the same model from another angle

Grades 1 to 4 · Engineering and design

Ball Path

Physics puzzles: students lay planks, seesaws and trampolines so the ball rolls to the flag. Real physics moves the ball, so they have to plan, test and fix.

What students learn
  • The design cycle: plan, test, improve
  • Slope, friction, balance and bounce
  • Looking for more than one solution and not giving up

More work

  • Researchers’ Night 2026

An activity wall and 24 missions that visitors opened on their phones with a QR code.

  • Teacher zone

Class codes, lesson mode and student progress in one place.

  • Video studio

Tools for school video: Whisper subtitles and vertical Reels cuts.

  • Green City

A game about air pollution: students measure PM2.5 and find what reduces smog.

About me

I am a maker and a teacher. I like it most when technology helps a child understand something with their hands: build it, measure it, photograph it.

I take work from the idea to the finish: design, code, video and sound. I study New Media Art and Education, and I hold a degree in Business Administration.
